The 2021 AGT Series visited Sandy Pines, one of the many Indiana great golf courses. This Tim Nigent design has impressed our team from day one and has become a fan favorite of many! If you have not yet made it to Indiana to play this course, you are missing out!
Playing the AGT Series FourBall format, the Gross division was a tightly contested event from the first tee. The team of Avery Motes and Eric O’Shea took the lead after the front 9 by 1 stroke over the team of Logan Brimberry and Dave Thompson. The two teams traded some birdies but remained tied headed to the 15th tee box. With consecutive birdies on 15 and 16, Motes and O’Shea took a 2 shot lead. The lead was trimmed to 1 with a birdie on 17 from Brimberry/Thompson but the comeback halted at 18 with both players carding a par to finish in second place. Motes and O’Shea punched their tickets to Big Cedar Lodge!
One of the best parts of the AGT Series, is the Net division. Players continue to play their own ball throughout the day and log their gross scores. With their USGA approved index in place our scoring system automatically calculates Net scores, no math needed!
In the Net division, the team of Kevin Paulish and Matt Lang, went out in 33 (3 under) and continued with 4 more net birdies on the back on holes 10, 11, 16 & 18. The only blemish to the scorecard was a bogey on 14, otherwise it was a smooth 66 good for a 4 shot victory. 2nd place went to Sean and Han Kim carding a net 70.
In the Gross Skins game, 5 skins split the skins pool, with each skin worth $100
