The 2021 AGT Series continued it’s ground breaking season and headed south to Madison, IL home of Gateway National Golf Links. Gateway National is one of the premier public venues in the region and consistently gets recognition as a place you must play. The team ad Gateway National always impresses and the players were excited to play the course as the conditions were ideal. The only question of the day is who would be punching their tickets to Big Cedar?
Playing the AGT Series FourBall format, the team of Dustin Sloat and Tyler Comerford came ready to play as they posted 4 birdies in their first 6 holes to jump to an early lead. With 4 more birdies on the back nine, including #10, #15, #16, and #18, they walked to an 8 under par 63 good for a 4 shot victory and invites the the National Championship at Big Cedar Lodge !! 2nd place honors went to Tom Harle and Jeff Lange as they shot a team score of 67, while Matt Colin and David Newman took 3rd with a team score of 69.
In what continues to be a trend with the AGT Series, players of various skill levels and handicaps are always competing in the Net division. 3 shots separated the top 6 teams in yet another tightly packed leaderboard! In fact, 18 holes were not enough to decide the winner as a sudden death playoff was needed between Troy Hanne (13) & John Richardson (7) and Jason Hatrich (7) & Paul Wilson (9), as both teams shot a net 62. The players headed back to the course and after exchanging pars on the first two playoff holes, Team Hanne-Richardson rolled in a birdie putt on the third hole to claim the top prize and punch their tickets to Big Cedar!!! “Such a fun day” said Hanne! Third place went Team Burton (John and Rick) with a Net score of 63.

In the Swag Golf Putting Contest, the players had a blast taking turns at knocking down the putts. Each player had a chance to win a custom fit putter courtesy of Swag Golf. This week's winner was Chad Jones
