The 2021 AGT Series season kicked off in Myrtle Beach at the famed Dunes Beach & Golf Club. This prestigious venue was the ideal spot for the AGT Series presented by Golf Club Traders season kickoff with ocean views, a fantastic layout, a rich golf history, and plenty of challenges for the field. Often swirling, the windy conditions challenged the players with club selection on every shot throughout the Robert Trent Jones layout.
Playing the AGT Series FourBall format, the team of Mike Leftis and Greg Brastow played some great team golf to take home the hardware in the Gross division. Team birdies on on #3, #4, and #8 put them in the lead at the turn and with a birdie on the par 5 15th hole, they were in control finishing at 2 under par 70. Finishing only 1 shot behind was the team of Bradley Bennett and Barry Roof. Bennett and Roof also played well, but a slow start made it tough to battle back to catch the leaders.
In the Net division, Jason Zimecki and Mike Strickland started off solid, but shot up the leaderboard on the back nine with net birdies on #10, #11, #13, #14, #15, #17 & #18 for a 34-29-63 finish. They needed every one of those birdies as Justin Roser and Joe Wohlers only finished 1 shot behind the leaders. Finishing second, Roser and Wohlers did all they could down the stretch with some clutch shots and putts, also shooting net 29 on the back, highlighted by net eagles on #12 & #14.
In the Gross Skins game, 7 players found their way to a payday. Each skin was $133 and included:

The AGT Series Dunes Club Champions have their tickets punched for the 2021 National Championship hosted at Big Cedar Lodge in November. Jason Zimecki, Mike Strickland, Mike Leftis and Greg Brastow will take their shot at the title and title of National Champion.
