The 2021 AGT Series continued it’s inaugural season and headed north to Lake Geneva, WI home to many great golf courses including Hawk's View Golf Club. Hawk's View is always a favorite of many as it attracts play for many different areas showcasing the dramatic elevation drops and top notch conditions. The team at Hawk's View is also courteous and the players were excited to play the course on the warm early summer day.The only question of the day is who would be punching their tickets to Big Cedar?
Playing the AGT Series FourBall format, 18 holes were not enough to determine a team champion. Anthony Zumpano and George Tudor matched Tim Morrow and Brandon Tudor with matching 68s (-4). The teams went back out on the course and when Tim Morrow found a tough chip he delivered with an impressive up and down to lock down the par and victory for Team Morrow/Tudor. The victory gives Morrow and Tudor invites to go for the National Championship title at Big Cedar Lodge in November!!
One of the many features of the AGT Series, is the Net division. Designed to provide golfers of all handicap levels a chance to compete. It was has been an ongoing trend, the leaderboards in the Net division are tight and full of intense moments. Also with this format, par net birdies are huge and that proved itself out this weekend. Standing on the 18th green, the team of Ryan and Eric Arnold calmly rolled in a par putt good for a net birdie and created a 1 shot lead. Paul Ihn and Adam Kruger had their chance on 18 to force a playoff, as their birdie putt (would have ben a net eagle) just missed falling into the cup. Team Arnold took home the hardware carding a net 64 (-8) to win by one and punched their tickets to Big Cedar Lodge!
In the Gross Skins game, 5 players split the skins pool, with each skin worth $180:
-
Jim Pokorny - Birdie on #1
-
Ross Piepho - Birdie on #6
-
Paul Ihn - Birdie on #8
-
Adam Krueger - Birdie on #11
-
Anthony Zumpano - Birdie on #17
In the Swag Golf Putting Contest, the players had a blast taking turns at knocking down the putts. Each player had a chance to win a custom fit putter courtesy of Swag Golf. This week's winner was Dennis Bruns
